As Chair Townsville City Council Women’s Advisory Committee developed 4 annual forums with celebrated guest speakers such as: Dale Spender, ”Toddler Tamer” Dr. Christopher Green and ex-Vic Premier Joan Kirner.
Forums also dealt with issues such as domestic violence with self-defence experts, leading indigenous women stories and successful Australian women authors. These events provided child care & transport & drew audiences of more than 200 guests at each event.
- Initiated a Young Women’s Mentoring Program as a pilot study:
- Townsville City Council inaugural Women’s Policy Plan
- Qld Premier’s Women’s Consultative Committee
